Spiced pecan nuts

Have you ever noticed that there’s always one house in a neighborhood where children congregate after school, on weekends and on long, lazy summer days? Perhaps they really like the children who live at the house. Maybe they particularly enjoy the toys, the yard, the electronics or the sporting equipment. Or perhaps they hang out at the house with the best snacks. Maybe it’s some combination of all of these things. Whatever it is, my house is that house.

One snack that’s particularly popular with the teenage brood at my house is Slow Cooker Sweet And Spicy Nuts. It’s really simple to make, too. My boys will start a batch, play a game while it cooks and then indulge. They like this snack because it’s sweet, spicy and crunchy. I like it because it’s healthy. Every single ingredient is good for your heart. Walnuts are especially known for its high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids; they contain more omega-3 than any other nut.
