A few months ago, I decided to try something new when it comes to grocery shopping. I give each of my children a set amount of money, and they go to the store and pick out food that they particularly like. It’s worked out well. They are learning how to budget for groceries and how to shop smartly. And I’m saving money. That’s because we have less food waste overall since they’re picking out exactly what they want to eat.
It was on one of their shopping trips that my daughter discovered chocolate soy milk. She really likes it. And she also really likes smoothies, so I was excited to find a recipe featuring chocolate soy milk.
Chocolate banana smoothie
- 1 cup chocolate soy milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 3-5 ice cubes
- Put all ingredients in a blender.
- Blend until creamy and serve.

Because this recipe features both soy milk and peanut butter, I know it packs a protein punch. And teenage girls, like my daughter, need protein to grow and develop properly.
